Who we are
Alimentatie Inzicht is a service of Kompas Legal & Finance, De Muy 399, 2134 XJ Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce (KvK) no. 42113102. Kompas Legal & Finance is the data controller for the personal data processed through this platform. Privacy questions: info@alimentatieinzicht.nl.
What data we process
We only process data needed to deliver the service:
- Account data: your name, email address and password (we store the password only as a hash).
- Calculation data you enter yourself, such as income, care arrangements and housing costs.
- Technical data, such as IP address, browser type and usage statistics.
No BSN (the Dutch citizen service number) is required for a calculation.
What we use data for
- Delivering calculations, scenarios and PDF reports.
- Creating and managing your account.
- Improving and securing the service.
- Complying with legal obligations.
Legal bases for processing
We process data based on the performance of our agreement with you, your consent, a legitimate interest or a legal obligation.
Sharing with third parties
We share your calculation data only with a professional you choose yourself, after your explicit consent. We also use service providers: Amazon Web Services (hosting, EU region Ireland) as a processor under a data processing agreement; Stripe for payments (Stripe is an independent controller for this and may process data in the US under the EU standard contractual clauses); and, only with your consent, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for statistics (see Cookies & local storage). We never sell your data.
Retention period
We keep your account and calculation data for as long as your account exists. You can delete calculations yourself. To download your data or have your account deleted, go to My data in the app; you can also email info@alimentatieinzicht.nl. The download contains everything we hold about you: profile, calculations with all versions, reports, licences, requests and your activity log. After a deletion request we erase your data within one month, in practice immediately, except what we are legally required to keep: invoice data is kept for 7 years (tax retention obligation). An exported PDF file remains available for download for 90 days; after that we remove the file automatically, while your calculation itself remains. Messages sent via the contact or demo form are kept for as long as needed to handle them. Usage-measurement data is kept for at most twelve months (see below).
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have, among others, the right to:
- Access your data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Have your data erased.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Data portability.
- Withdraw consent given earlier.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Cookies & local storage
We use functional cookies and local storage (for example to remember your language choice). Only with your consent via the cookie banner (Cookiebot) do we also set statistics cookies from Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. Clarity records how you use the page (clicks, scrolling, mouse movements) in anonymised recordings; Clarity is switched off on pages where you enter data. Google and Microsoft may process data outside the EU under the EU standard contractual clauses. You can change your choice at any time via the 'Cookies' link in the footer.
Usage measurement in the calculator
To make the calculator easier to follow, we measure how far you get: which step you reach, how long you spend on it, which error messages you see and which fields you leave empty. That shows us where people get stuck.
What you fill in is not recorded. No amounts, no names, no details about your children or your former partner — not even when you type something and do not save the calculation. For an error message we record only which check triggered it; for an empty field, only the name of that field.
This measurement takes place while you are logged in and is therefore linked to your account. The basis is our legitimate interest in improving the service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep this data for at most twelve months and then delete it automatically. The rights described in the chapter above apply here as well.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top indicates the latest change.
